Katia Rivas - our founder of Golden Age Home Care was presented with an opportunity in 2010 when her future mother-in-law offered her a job as a companion for a lady who had dementia. Katia worked with this lady for over two years and discovered a passion for it. Working in different settings of retirement homes and private home care, she saw the desperate need for love and attention. Katia realized it was more than the activities of daily living seniors needed. Katia’s love for helping seniors is what drove her to start Golden Age Home Care.

Dementia and Alzheimer Specialty Care

We train and hire experienced nurses to look after seniors diagnosed with Dementia and Alzheimer. We understand the everyday hardship and frustrations this disease may cause to seniors and family members. We have a great support team to help your needs.

Respite Care

Respite care is an opportunity for a family caregiver to rejuvenate and attend other responsibilities or obligations. Temporary relief is available from three hours per day to 24-hours.

Meal Preparation

At Golden Age Home Care, healthy and delicious meals are available in your own home. Prepared and cooked by our nurses with love.

Companionship Care

Building strong, healthy relationships every single day. Golden Age Caregivers go out of their way to get to know their clients and find their passions. Within the first few weeks, you can see the positive affect companionship has on everyone.

Personal Care

We provide personal care such as showering, oral hygiene, dressing, feeding and toileting while maintaining our clients' dignity and independence.

Errand Service / Shopping

We know how exhausting errands and shopping can be. Whatever the circumstance may be, there’s no need to worry! Our qualified caregivers are more than happy to go on your behalf. We are also more than happy to accompany you for extra help and safety.

24 Hour Care (Live-In)

Our trained caregivers can provide 24-hour quality care in the comfort of your own home, hospital or home care facility. Around the clock care may be very comforting for family members and clients knowing there's always a helping hand available.

Light Housekeeping

We believe in maintaining a clean and safe environment for both clients and caregivers to prevent the spread of infection and prevent falls and injuries.

Extra Services

Are you or your loved one fully cognitive and fully independent with their personal care but need an extra hand? We provide a service that is affordable and convenient. We can arrange your appointments, transportation, and a variety of other services with a non-certified HCA or non-licensed nurse.

Palliative Care

We’re a support team for our clients and their family. Your physical, emotional, or spiritual beliefs won’t be compromised and will be respected with personal/family decisions that are made. Comfort, dignity, respect and a loving hand are what we provide to help make it through this difficult time.

Laundry and Linen

Golden Age Home Care knows accessibility can be difficult especially when carrying loads of laundry up and down the stairs. Our nurses will gladly help wash, fold and iron laundry/linen and store them away neatly.

"Katia Rivas is an amazing caregiver. She made the last three years of my Mother’s life happy and beautiful. My Mother (in her 90’s) ended up in the hospital and it was decided that she needed to go into continuing care. I wanted companionship for her while she was still in the hospital because I was working and could not be with her full time. One day I arrived and Katia was there, and that day proved to be the beginning of a very special relationship. She forged a very close bond with my Mother, and she continued her five day a week “visits” after Mom was moved, which proved to be even more necessary than in the hospital. She made such a difference in Mom’s last years, not only for the great care she gave, well beyond what was expected, but also in making sure Mom felt worthwhile and was happy and had joy every day. Her life in the residence would have been very different without Katia’s love, care, and championship.
